• Diablo Valley Oncology & Hematology, DVOH, of Walnut Creek
Why did we choose these affiliates?
UCSF Comprehensive Cancer center was the initial location of Sherri’s diagnosis and was a monthly resource in addition to the John Wayne Cancer Institute when first receiving treatments in 1997. We were very impressed with the professionalism and knowledge of the staff at UCSF during our visits. Sherri was a member of the monthly Melanoma Cancer group for over 10 years.
NIH was the location Sherri received her treatments from December 2005 to June 2006. While the NIH provides grants and is on the cutting edge of leading technology and advancements of cancer research, they also have a Melanoma specific hospital floor. They have an exceptional staff of doctors and nurses that work with patients everyday that are undergoing clinical trial treatments funded by the NIH. In addition, Justin and Jim were able to stay at the NIH Family Lodge during the times Sherri was a patient at the NIH Hospital.
Diablo Valley Oncology & Hematology was Sherri's emloyer from 2004-2005. As a nurse who had been working as an ICU, CCU and a nurse in several clinics, she found her true calling working with the DVOH professional staff and team. During her last months with us, Sherri was supported by her doctors and co-workers at the local hospital in Walnut Creek.
