SCARF
conducts first Board meeting as an Organization

Officially becomes Organization

 

Walnut Creek, CA – March 7, 2007

Sherri Tennant Melanoma Cancer Awareness & Research Foundation, SCARF, a cancer awareness foundation, conducts their first monthly board meeting with all officers present. This date marks the official progress of SCARF becoming an organization approved by the State of California.  The overall Business Plan and Prospectus were reviewed and approved by all. The By-Laws were discussed and the Application for Federal tax exception timeframes were also agree upon. Monthly Board meetings are currently held at their headquartered location in Walnut Creek.

SCARF hopes to have their Federal Exception status approved within the first 12-months of operation and is currently redesigning the website and discussing the implantation of their business plan.


About SCARF

SCARF is a non-profit public charity operating with a Board of Directors, helping to educate the general public about the prevention, detection and current treatments of melanoma, the cancer with hightest incidence of death. The foundation proceeds will help benefit a variety of institutes and treatment facilities across the country.  SCARF’s education will cover all ages of the general public, from middle schools, high schools and colleges, to speaking forums within communities.
